COLUMBUS - A local pastor accused of sexually assaulting several young girls was arrested Saturday, according to court records.

Guillermo Quintanilla, 47, a local pastor at El Shadai Church of God, on South Hamilton Road in Canal Winchester, is in the Franklin County Jail on a $1 Million bond on felony charges of rape, sexual battery and two counts of gross sexual imposition.

According to the complaints, the alleged assaults took place at the church. The complaints state that the assaults took place over a period of several years.

Quintanilla’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 8.

Quintanilla's church shares an address with Reformation Lutheran Church, where El Shadai Church of God rents specific space within the building from Reformation Lutheran when it is not conducting its own worship and spiritual activities, according to a release from Eric B. Hershberger, Esq., a lawyer who sent a statement on Reformation Lutheran's behalf.

The statement reads, in part:

"The congregation of Reformation Lutheran shares the concern about the seriousness and nature of the charges against Mr. Quintanilla and trusts the charges against him will be adjudicated in the courts in due course. To address any risk of confusion in the meantime, Reformation Lutheran stresses that no affiliation or employment exists between either Mr. Quintanilla and El Shaddai on the one hand, and the congregation of Reformation Lutheran (including its pastor [D. Ritchie], and its church council), the Southern Ohio synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) and the ELCA itself, on the other hand."
