Loaded Gun Found In Carry-On At Columbus Airport Checkpoint

Security officials say they found a loaded Smith and Wesson .38 at a Columbus Airport security point on Tuesday morning.

The firearm was discovered around 5:30 a.m. The Transportation Security Administration prohibits firearms in carry-ons.

Airport police were alerted of the situation.

TSA officials said no charges are being filed against the individual.

This is the ninth firearm found by the TSA at checkpoints at the Columbus International Airport this year. A total of 10 firearms were discovered in 2013.
