Kroger Dims Lights During Storm Aftermath
Kroger said it will dim the lights in all 125 of its Columbus-area stores to save electricity, 10TV reported on Thursday.
The company said that there are signs posted in all the stores announcing the voluntary reduction.
The electricity is reduced by one third, which the company says is typical during its overnight hours every day. Now it is extending that reduction 24 hours a day.
The company stresses that customers can see and that there are no safety concerns.
Kroger said it will reduce its power usage through Sunday to help conserve energy as power crews continue restoration efforts after the June 29 storm. It said it would extend the reduction if necessary.
