A Fairfield County jury convicted a man in the death of his ex-girlfriend Friday night.

A jury found Scott Farringer guilty of wreckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter and abduction in the death of Denise Haught.

Farringer strangled Haught in October while her children slept in the next room of a Fairfield Beach home.

The jury found him not guilty of three counts of murder because they did not think he intentionally killed her.

Haught's children are being cared for by family members.

Fairfield County prosecutor Gregg Marx said a sentencing date has not been set.
