Investigation Into Death Of Pregnant Mother Continues
Investigators are waiting on an autopsy to determine how a pregnant mother found in her car died.
Deanna Ballman was found dead in the backseat of her car, parked near a wooded area near Bevelheimer Road on Wednesday. Family members filed a police report stating that Ballman disappeared after responding to a Craigslist ad.
The 23-year-old mother of two was expected to give birth to her third child in just a few weeks. Investigators said that her death was considered suspicious.
While investigators worked to piece together the clues, her family and friends were left to cope with the loss of Ballman and her baby, who was to be named Mabel.
"They were just working people, they're not high-dollar people. Never had much of anything," said family friend Karl Zink. "They were really proud of this daughter, she went through the National Guard and everything and when I seen that on the news, it just shocked me."
Ballman was in the process of transferring from the Colorado National Guard to the Ohio National Guard. Family member said that she dreamed of becoming a dentist.
