Homeowner Fires Weapon At Alleged Robber, Police Search For Suspect


A man fired a weapon at a would-be robber at his home in northeast Columbus Friday night around 9:45 p.m.

The incident occurred on the 2000 block of Rankin Avenue.

Lashonne Hunter said a man tried to enter his home through a side door.

Hunter confronted the man in the kitchen and they exchanged gunfire.

Authorities said Hunter believes the robber was hit in the shooting, but that was not confirmed.

Hunter was not injured.

Police were searching the area for the suspect.
