‘Hilltop Creeper’ Suspect Indicted By Grand Jury On 9 Counts
Deneen Leonard Black, 32, was indicted on nine charges for his alleged involvement in break-ins.
Law enforcement officials dubbed the crimes the work of the 'Hilltop Creeper', a man known to sneak into women's homes and stand over them while they sleep. The crimes went on for weeks and in some cases, the man touched victims inappropriately.
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said Black was indicted on seven counts of Burglary, one count of Kidnapping, and one count of Gross Sexual Imposition.
“Most of the victims in this case were sleeping, only to wake up with the defendant allegedly watching and/or touching them,” said O’Brien in a news release.
Black was arrested at his southwest side Columbus home on September 25. He is due to be arraigned on October 10.
