Hilliard Police said that they have arrested a woman's son for her murder.

Terri Menendez was found dead in her apartment on Monday. Police say that she was strangled.

Menendez’ son, Tyler Dunkle, was found unconscious in the home, located in the 2500 block of Westham Way off of Roberts Road, but police said on Tuesday that his condition has been improving. Authorities say that Dunkle overdosed on drugs.

Tuesday evening, authorities announced that they had arrested Dunkle in connection with his mother's death.

Earlier police revealed that they previously responded to a report of an assault made from the apartment where the two were found on Monday.

Police said that Dunkle, 22, had been assaulted at an establishment in Columbus and came home distraught and agitated. Medics took Dunkle to Doctors West Hospital, and he was released to return home with his mother.

Dunkle faces one charge of murder. He was transported to the jail after being released from the hospital after being treated for the overdose.
