A Linden McKinley football player is apologizing for his involvement in a robbery in early December.

Nick Battle, 18, is charged with Aggravated Robbery on December 2.

A judge set Battle's bond at $500,000.

The victim says Battle pulled a gun on him after he exited a COTA bus near Cleveland and 17th Avenue. He says Battle took property and fled.

In court on Tuesday, Battle acknowledged the incident but denied he had a gun. He apologized to his family and coach.

Battle said it was a spur of the moment decision to get money.  He posted on the social networking site, Facebook, "football is my life" and posted a photo of letters from various colleges.

Columbus Schools say as of February 14th, Battle was no longer a student at Linden McKinley High School
