A search warrant reveals a murder suspect told a family member he used a sword to kill his father.

Adam Runyons, Jr. is charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his father, Adam Runyons, Sr, to death on Woodland Drive in Heath Thursday.

Investigators removed items from the home, including a possible weapon.

"They were carrying something out of the house that looked like a knife (or) a sword," said Angie Stephens, neighbor to the Runyons.

The victim was discovered in the home shortly before noon and led to a search across Licking County.

Around noon, authorities had a mobile home park on North Street in Utica surrounded as they looked for a suspect.

Police later said Runyons, Jr. had "made admissions" of a crime to family members who tipped police off.

Initial reports said that the Runyons, Jr. may have been barricaded in one of the homes.

Licking County deputies and Utica police could be seen gaining entrance into a mobile home before leaving the scene.

Nearby, Chopper 10 spotted authorities arresting Runyons, Jr. just after 1:30 PM near Utica High School.

The school superintendent told 10TV that Runyons, Jr. tried to enter the building through gymnasium doors before he was taken into custody.

The school was on lockdown because of the police search.

Students told parents they were nervous as SWAT units were spotted and a police helicopter flew overhead.

"She was petrified. Obviously, I couldn't get her so she had to stay," said Sarah Devoll of her 8th grader.

"The last call we got was that someone had an individual in front of the high school acting strangely, so units responded here at the high school and arrested the suspect," said Randy Thorpe, Licking County Sheriff.

Runyons, Sr. has a 4-year-old son.  That child was placed in the care of relatives.

This is not the only time this family has dealt with tragedy.

Relatives say Runyons, Sr. has been raising his 4-year-old alone after his wife died shortly after child birth.

Runyon's Jr's 2-year-old daughter, Jocelyn, was murdered last October.
Her mother's boyfriend Daniel Hall is accused of shaking the child to death.
