Grove City Woman Accused Of Neglecting Animals Pleads Not Guilty
A woman who was supposed to be fostering and caring for animals is accused of keeping them in poor conditions.
Stephanie Kitchen faced a judge on Tuesday after being charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty.
Humane society agents said that Kitchen fostered 12 animals and solicited dog rescues, telling people that she was a foster home.
Agents said that they went to her home last week and found 10 dogs and two cats.
On Tuesday, Kitchen agreed to surrender the animals to the Capital Area Humane Society, where they will be adopted.
Kitchen pleaded not guilty to 19 charges of animal cruelty.
According to the prosecutor in the case, the dogs were living in filth and they all had some kind of skin condition or disease.
Kitchen's attorney said her client was simply overwhelmed by the number of pets she had.
