Grove City police asked for help on Tuesday identifying a woman accused of engaging in a “short change” scam.

According to police, a woman was caught on surveillance video paying for frozen yogurt at the Oh-Yo Frozen Yogurt, located at 4226 Buckeye Parkway, on Monday.

Police said the woman paid for her order with a $50 bill, and after receiving her change, hid a $20 bill and told the cashier that she was short changed.

She then was given an additional $20.

The manager of the facility said the employee was upset over being taken.

“She was very shaken up and apologetic to me, and again, I just told her it was not her fault and I would sort through it,” said Lindsey Ossim, manager.

Ossim said that the transaction took a matter of seconds.

"It's definitely a teachable moment where we can turn around and teach our employees to be alert and to be on their toes while they're here,” said Ossim.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call police at 614-277-1710.
