Gallipolis Man Convicted Of Raping Ohio University Student

An Athens County jury has convicted a Gallipolis man of raping an Ohio University student in September of 2011.

Levi Canterbury faces three to eleven years total for two counts of rape.

He approached an intoxicated woman walking alone and took her to a parking lot where he raped her.

Canterbury will also be forced to register as a tier 3 sex offender for the rest of his life.

The prosecutor said the judge will set a sentencing hearing within the next couple weeks.

Canterbury remained incarcerated without bond pending the hearing.
