Galion Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Woman Multiple Times

A man was arrested Thursday night after allegedly shooting his girlfriend and leading police on an hour-long chase.

According to the Galion Police Department, police received multiple calls about a woman shot in the 200 block of Union Street.

Officers found a 41-year-old woman there suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where she was listed in critical condition.

The suspect in the shooting was identified as 57-year-old Brian Brown. He fled the scene in his vehicle and then abandoned it on McClure Street and fled on foot.

At about 9:40 p.m. Thursday, members from the Galion Police Department, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, the Crawford County Sheriff’s office and the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force from Richland County apprehended Brown in the parking lot of 1 Mardo Lane.

Officers used a Taser to apprehend Brown.

The Crawford County Prosecutor is reviewing possible charges.
