A Frost Advisory has been issued for all of central Ohio tonight. An upper-level low pressure system over the Great Lakes continues to hold unseasonably chilly temperatures in place across the Ohio Valley. With such cool air aloft, scattered showers have developed during the heating of the day with some of the showers generating small hail. These showers will come to an end as the sun sets this evening with the loss of daytime heating. As skies clear tonight, temperatures will fall back into the lower 40’s. Some rural areas may dip into the upper 30’s with some patchy frost possible.
The upper-level low will slowly lift north and east of the Great Lakes Sunday allowing for more sunshine and a slow warm-up in temperatures. Highs will climb back into the 60’s. The warming trend will continue into early next week with dry weather expected Monday and most of Tuesday with temperatures rebounding back into the 70’s. The next threat for storms will occur midweek.
Alerts: Frost Advisory for all of central Ohio late tonight until 9am Sunday.
Inconvenient Weather: Scattered showers, some containing some small hail, will taper off near or shortly after sunset. As skies clear, temperatures will fall into the upper 30’s to lower 40’s by morning. Patchy areas of frost will be possible in rural areas by early Sunday morning. The next chance for thunderstorms is not expected until midweek.
Planning Your Day: A chilly morning, perhaps with some patchy frost, is expected on Sunday. Partly cloudy skies are expected with a slow warm-up in the afternoon into the lower to middle 60’s.
