Freezing Rain Could Impact Morning Drive

The National Weather Service has issued the following alerts for parts of Ohio.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY goes into effect for the following counties beginning at 7 p.m.


A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY goes into effect for the following counties at 6 p.m.

Sunday Evening:
Light wintry mix & freezing rain developing.
Freezing rain and sleet changing to all rain after midnight.    Rising temperatures. Early low: 31 (rising temps)
Morning showers, then cloudy skies with occasional sprinkles or drizzle. High: 49

Special Information:
     A wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet will spread into central Ohio Sunday evening. Temperatures will drop to near freezing early Sunday night allowing for the potential for a light glaze of ice. As much as a tenth of an inch of ice will be possible near US Highway 30 with less amounts as you head south. Little, if any, icing is expected near or south of Interstate 70. Temperatures will rise above freezing near or shortly after midnight allowing the precipitation to change to all rain and any icy conditions to quickly improve.
     Monday morning will begin with temperatures near 40 degrees and scattered showers. The rain will taper off early in the day with cloudy skies through the afternoon. A few sprinkles or areas of drizzle and fog will be possible through the day. Temperatures will continue to rise with highs Monday approaching 50 degrees.
Alerts :  FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY:      6pm to 1am Hardin, Logan, Union, Delaware, and Licking Counties.
             WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY: 7pm to 3am for counties north & east of Freezing Rain Adv.
Inconvenient Weather: Icy conditions will be possible this evening before temperatures warm above freezing after midnight. Travel may come hazardous north of I-70 early tonight but improve Monday morning.
Planning your Day:  A few icy spots will be possible before dawn north of I-70, otherwise road conditions will be wet through the morning with scattered showers. The rain will taper off for the afternoon with patchy fog or drizzle possible. Temperatures will rise into the upper 40’s.
