Franklin County Auditor Clarence Mingo is asking the Ohio Auditor to look into a recent contract that has come under scrutiny.

Mingo sent a letter to the Ohio Auditor's Office asking for a review of the contract of Jerzell Pierre-Louis.

10 Investigates recently reported on questions of Mingo approving a contract for $135,000 to his Chief of Staff after she claimed Mingo was responsible for sexual harassment.

Mingo removed Pierre-Louis from her position as Chief of Staff in January 2013. Shortly after that, her attorney sent Mingo a letter that made detailed allegations of sexual harassment in the office. Pierre-Louis demanded approximately $150,000 "in exchange" for ending her allegations.

Pierre-Louis later partially recanted her allegation. Two weeks later she signed a contract with the Auditor's office for $135,000 in consulting work.

In a news release on Monday, Mingo said that his wife is the only woman he had ever been intimate with. He said Franklin County contracts are created by law and guidance from the County Prosecutor. He added that Pierre-Louis is qualified to perform the work outlined in the contract.
