Four From Columbus Charged In Athens County Slaying

Six people including a juvenile face charges in connection with a slaying on Sunday morning in Athens County.

The Athens County Sheriff's Office said Donnie Putman was shot at a home in New Marshfield around 12:30 a.m.

Sheriff Patrick Kelly said three adults and a juvenile went to a house to rob it. When they arrived, gunfire was exchanged.

Putnam arrived at the home while shots were being fired, Kelly said. He was shot and later died at O'Bleness Hospital in Athens.

Deputies arrested and charged three men with murder and aggravated robbery. Two of the men are from Columbus.

Phillip Boler, 27, of 3830 West Wilson Road in New Marshfield, faces a murder and aggravated robbery charge.

Mahut M. Osman, 18, of 823 Eatonia Place in Columbus, faces a murder and aggravated robbery charge.

Abdi Abdifatah, 22, of 4023 Burnell Circle in Columbus, faces a murder and aggravated robbery charge.

Two other men have been charged with aggravated robbery, Kelly said.

Hamda Jama, 21, of 816 Avonia Drive in Columbus, faces an aggravated robbery charge.

Eric Fussner, 33, of 105 Church Street in Nelsonville, faces an aggravated robbery charge.

A 17-year-old from Columbus also faces charges, but the individual's name has not been released.

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, the five men are being held at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville. The 17-year-old is being held at a juvenile-detention center in Fairfield County.

All six will appear in Athens County Municipal Court on Tuesday morning.
