Former Township Fiscal Officer Accused Of Stealing $100,000 In Taxpayer Money

A former Clinton Township fiscal officer faces felony theft in office and tampering with evidence charges after allegedly stealing more than $100,000 from the township.

According to Clinton Township Police, Rebecca Christian was arrested on Monday.

An investigation into Christian's alleged actions began in July 2012. She served from 1992 to April 2012.

The information from the investigation was forwarded to the Ohio State Auditor's Office, and further investigation revealed that Christian allegedly stole more than $100,000 from the township.

Investigators said that the theft has occurred for the past six years and that fiscal reports had been falsified.
