Former School Choir Director Turns Himself In To Police

A former choir director who allegedly solicited a sex act and nude pictures from several students has turned himself in.

Zachary Ruppel, 27, was indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury last week. Ruppel is the former choir director at St. Francis DeSales High School.

After the indictment was filed, he had a week to turn himself in but missed the deadline.

Police started to look for him when Ruppel contacted his lawyer and arraigned to turn himself in.

Ruppel is facing 13 counts which include six counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor, one count Compelling Prostitution, one count of Importuning, one count of Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles and four counts Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor.
