Ohio State University women’s basketball head coach Kevin McGuff announced Tuesday the hiring of former Buckeye co-captain Beth Howe as director of women’s basketball operations.

Howe, a native of Jackson, Ohio, was an OSU scholar athlete and co-captain of the 2004-05 Big Ten Championship team.

She has worked in the Ohio State Ticket Sales office since January 2009.

She also served as Ohio State’s primary administrator for the 2010 and 2011 NCAA tournaments.

“Having grown up in Ohio and been part of this program as a student-athlete, this is a dream job,” Howe said. “I’m very appreciative of the opportunity that has been presented to me from Coach McGuff and the athletics department.”

She graduated from Ohio State in 2005 with a degree in human ecology before earning her Master’s degree in sport administration from Belmont University in 2007.
