Former Ohio State Linebacker Storm Klein Accused Of Assaulting Daughter's Mother
Court records show that former Ohio State linebacker Storm Klein was accused of assaulting the mother of his child on Friday.
Prosecutors said that Klein, 21, argued with the alleged victim about their relationship before allegedly throwing her, causing a head injury.
Klein pleaded not guilty to domestic violence and assault charges on Saturday morning.
Prosecutors filed a protection order for the victim and her daughter. Klein was released on his own recognizance.
Head Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer dismissed Klein, who served as a starting linebacker in 10 games in 2011, because of the charges.
"The charges filed against Storm Klein violate the core values of the Ohio State Football Program," Meyer said in a statement. "As a result, Storm has been removed from the team. It has been made very clear that this type of charge will result in dismissal. If there are any changes in the charges, we will re-evaluate his status."
Klein was a senior in his fourth year with the Ohio State football team.
