The strongest of what will be two cold fronts is crossing central Ohio this afternoon. Widespread showers and thunderstorms have developed and moved into southern and eastern Ohio. A few of these storms could be severe through 8pm, containing damaging winds, large hail and locally heavy rain. Storms will taper off overnight with warm and muggy conditions remaining. Some patchy fog will be possible in areas that have picked up rainfall today.
A second front will cross central Ohio on Monday bringing a few more afternoon showers and thunderstorms. While the overall severe weather threat on Monday is low, a few storms could still produce gusty winds and perhaps some small hail. Storms will exit Monday night with noticeably cooler, less humid air filtering into the state on Tuesday. Temperatures will fall to about 10 to 15 degrees below normal through midweek, with highs in the lower to middle 70s and lows in the lower to middle 50s. A gradual warm-up is expected by the end of the week into next weekend.
