Fire Investigators are heading to the scene of a fire in east Columbus.

Firefighters were called to a home on Hildreth Avenue just after 2:30 a.m.

When they arrived, they found two people stuck in their upstairs rooms. Firefighters were able to get everyone out safely.

The residents of the home say this is a boarding house, where they each rent a room and share a common space. They believe the fire started in a downstairs room that was empty at the time.

The residents say fire alarms are what alerted them to the blaze.

The Red Cross is helping them with a place to stay.
