Firefighters Battle Flames At Scioto Country Club

Upper Arlington firefighters were on the scene of an early morning fire at the Scioto Country Club on Riverside Drive.

The fire started around 4:00 a.m. at a shelter on the country club golf course.

Police said an Upper Arlington officer was driving down Lane Avenue when he spotted the flames and smelled smoke.

Firefighters raced to scene, dragging their hoses across Lane Avenue to put out the flames.

Police blocked Lane Avenue at Tremont Avenue and at Asbury Street as a precaution. Lane Avenue was reopened around 7:00 a.m.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
