Investigators were trying to learn more on Tuesday about a fire at the home of Tina Herrmann, one of the three people slain in Knox County.

The fire was reported Monday at about 11 p.m., 10TV's Tanisha Mallett reported.

Firefighters said the blaze appeared to have started under a pile of clothing beneath the home's front porch, causing some damage to the porch and siding.

It was not clear what sparked the fire and authorities would not say if it was considered suspicious.  No one was home at the time.

The state fire marshal's office was involved in the investigation, and said it was not immediately clear what sparked the blaze.

The fire investigation started the same day that Herrmann, 32, her son, Kody Maynard, 11, and friend Stephanie Sprang, 41, were being mourned, 10TV's Glenn McEntyre reported.

Visitation was held for the three people on Tuesday. Family and friends said they were focusing not on how the three died, but on the lives they lived.
