Edible drugs disguised as candy, chocolate bars seized in Athens County

NELSONVILLE, Ohio – The Athens County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit found a bounty of edible drugs in a Nelsonville home on Thursday.

Investigators said they acted on a tip that illegal drugs were located in a home in the 17000 block of Dorr Run Road.

Agents used a warrant to get inside.

Sheriff Smith said agents found six firearms, ten pounds of marijuana and more than $2,000 in cash.

Agents also found THC in the form of candy, chocolate bars, and butane honey oil commonly known as dabs.

The sheriff said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
