Dublin Residents Could Hear Blasts Due To Construction Project
Dublin has just started its final phase of construction on Emerald Parkway.
In this final phase, crews will begin bedrock blasting along Emerald Parkway.
This will happen for over the next four to six weeks.
Drivers need to plan for this because traffic will be stopped two times a day on Riverside Drive at Emerald Parkway.
At that time Dublin Police will block traffic on Riverside Drive and the Emerald Parkway bridge for about three minutes before each blast.
The first blasting is scheduled to take place between noon and 4 p.m. on Monday.
The goal of the project is to create an alternative route for I-270 through Dublin.
This final phase will extend the parkway from Riverside Drive to just north of Bright Road, at a new bridge over Billingsley Creek.
The entire project is scheduled to be complete in November of 2014.
