Dogs Stolen Out Of Home
Two dogs stolen were out of a Marion home. Their owner is desperate to find them and to figure out why someone took them.
"There was a crowbar mark where they had dug to lift up the window and pop it open," said Emily Hartman.
The thief left their mark, but not much else. Police found some smeared fingerprints, but no trail.
"Honestly I was in shock. I kind of didn't believe. I thought somebody was playing a joke on me," said Hartman.
Whoever it was, swiped little Silas and Daisy.
"It scares me to think, I don't know if they're safe right now. I don't know where they're at. I definitely hope they return them," said Hartman.
It happened sometime between Monday and Tuesday night. Hartman was out of town for the weekend.
"I had friends watching them, called me, gave me updates and said everything was fine," said Hartman.
She came back Monday and saw them. She went to work, then stayed at a friend's house. When she returned Tuesday, the dogs were gone. And there were obvious signs someone had broken in, but the door was locked and nothing else was taken.
"I had heard of people taking smaller dogs or even full bred dogs that they can get money out of," said Hartman. "I've heard of it, but I never actually thought it would happen to me."
Hartman's mind is wandering to every possibility.
"It's already upsetting, very discouraging if it's somebody I know or a neighbor or somebody like that," said Hartman.
She was quick to make flyers and post them all over town. Hartman is offering a reward, no questions asked, for the return of Silas and Daisy. If you have any information, call 740-244-4400.
