Dog Alerts Homeowner To Man Inside His Garage

A homeowner said that his growling dog alerted him to a man inside his garage Saturday afternoon around 12:45.

Police arrested Joshua Noel after the homeowner chased off him on the 2000 block of Highlandtown Drive on the west side of Columbus near Hilliard.

Noel was accused of taking gas cards and a gift card out of the vehicle in the garage.

The homeowner said Noel opened a door leading to the house, which caused the dog to growl. The man chased Noel who was arrested nearby.

Noel is charged with burglary. Police said he admitted that this is not the only time he has stolen from open garages.
