The Athens County Prosecutor says a former Detroit police officer will wave extradition from Atlanta and face charges in southern Ohio.

Brandon Jorge Allen is accused of being a drug supplier. He was arrested at an airport in Atlanta last week after he was indicted on 12 federal counts.

The investigation started after several drug roundups in Glouster, Ohio. It was conducted in Toledo, Detroit, and Atlanta.

Officials say Allen's social media accounts indicate he was getting ready to flee the country. He was arrested after his passport was flagged by authorities.

Prosecutor Keller Blackburn says this is the largest drug trafficking investigation in Athens County history.
