CVS Employee Robbed At Gunpoint While Working At The Cash Register
Columbus police detectives rushed to the scene of an armed robbery Saturday evening. It happened at the CVS at 933 Bethel Road.
Police say this is the third armed robbery at that store, in a matter of months.
Detectives say no one was hurt and no shots were fired out of this latest armed robbery.
One woman, who showed up to the store after the robbery, told 10TV she had a gun pointed at her just a few months ago, when she was working at the same store.
Saturday evening, she came to her co-worker's side to comfort her in a time of need.
Police say the robbery call came in at 6:43 pm and officers responded two minutes later.
They say a man walked in the CVS, waited until the cashier was alone, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. Police say he got the cash and ran off.
Officers thought they tracked him down in a nearby subdivision, but it turns out it was not the man.
Police are still searching for the thief described as a black man with a dark complexion, approximately 30 years old, wearing dark clothes, 5'10" to 6' feet tall, and 160 to 165 pounds.
He was last seen running southeast from the store.
Police say there is surveillance video, but it is not yet available.
