Crime Stoppers Tip Leads To Capture Of Alleged Eyeglass Thieves

A man accused of stealing about $1,700 worth of eyeglasses from a store appeared in court on Thursday.

According to court documents, Darrick Corley Hackney entered the Eyeglass Warehouse, hid the items and exited the store without paying for them.

The store surveillance was displayed by Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, and multiple tips helped identify the suspects.

Hackney, 26, was identified by the store clerk, and his fingerprints matched those from the scene.

A woman was thought to have helped Hackney steal the glasses.

Hackney is charged with theft and was held on $25,000 bond on Thursday.
