Crews Find Woman’s Body In Water At Scioto Audubon Metro Park

Crews responded by boat after a report of a person in the water at the Scioto Audubon Metro Park.

According to police, someone at the park, located on Whittier Street, reported that a person was in the water shortly after 11 a.m.

Officials confirmed to 10TV that they found a body of a woman in her early 70s. A police spokesman said that all signs pointed to suicide as the cause of the woman's death.

The woman was identified as Bessie Smith, 72. Smith was reported missing earlier in the week.
