COTA Bus Driver Investigated; Suspected Passenger Charged With Theft

A COTA bus driver was under investigation Friday after allegedly confronting a woman accused of stealing her wallet.
According to surveillance video, a bus driver stopped the bus and got off for a bathroom break during her normal route at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
One woman with a baby stroller was left on the bus, and surveillance videos shows the woman reaching behind the driver’s seat, 10TV’s Danielle Elias reported.
Surveillance video then shows a woman, later identified as Kyosha Moore, inside the Great Southern Shopping Center Kroger store, located at 3637 S. High St., and a woman, later identified as the bus driver, walks in a confronts the mother.
Video showed the two engaging in a physical fight and rolling to the ground, Elias reported.
COTA spokeswoman Beth Berkemer said that she would not go into detail about what COTA thought happened on the bus but said that the driver was under investigation.
“At this point in time, we’re investigating all angles to see what happened,” Berkemer said. “There is the possibility that our operator behaved in an unprofessional manner towards a customer, and that’s not something we will accept, if that’s how the situation occurred.”
The stolen wallet was recovered from Moore, 22, at the grocery store.
Moore faces charges of felony theft. Police discovered that she was wanted out of Hamilton County for violation of her parole on a forgery charge, Elias reported.
Moore currently is being held in jail on bond.
