Coroner: Chase Suspect Died Of Gunshot Wound To Head


Officials released the identity of a 20-year-old man shot and killed by a Coshocton County deputy late Tuesday.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, David Stahl died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Police said that Stahl led New Concord Police and Coshocton County Sheriff's deputies on a chase along U.S. Route 36 late Tuesday.

The chase started when authorities tried to stop Stahl in New Concord in Muskingum County.

After a brief chase in Coshocton County, deputies engaged Stahl near County Road 509.

Stahl was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he died.

A deputy was injured in a crash that resulted from the chase.
