Community pays respect to Kirkersville police chief

Inside the Grove City Church Of The Nazarene, hundreds of people came to pay their final respects to Kirkersville Police Chief Steven Eric DiSario.

"It's a tragedy it's just senseless things like this happen all the time until it hits home it's quite an eye-opener, " friend Paul Sherrick said.

DiSario was killed last week by Thomas Hartless outside the Pine Kirk Care Center. Hartless then killed two employees before killing himself.

DiSario's widow, Aryn, along with her five children attended the visitation. She expecting her sixth child.

Officers from around Central Ohio arrived in uniform. Columbus Police and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office mounted units stood guard outside the doors of the church.

A Kirkersville Police cruiser was parked in front adored with flowers.

An estimated 3,000 people are expected to attend the funeral on Saturday.
