A Columbus woman is in the Jackson Pike Jail, accused of plotting to have her husband murdered.

Columbus Police said they intercepted Tasha Woody's plan.

Officers arrested her Friday, when they said she tried to hire a man, who turned out to be a police detective, to kill her husband.

Detectives arranged a meeting with Woody after receiving a tip that she was looking for someone to murder her husband. They said she provided the undercover officer a photo of her husband and set up a time and place for the killing.

Police said she promised to pay $10,000 for the crime.

She is now being held on a $1 million cash security bond and is charged with the conspiracy to commit aggravated murder.

Woody is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday, Jan. 16.
