Columbus Police Search for Subway Armed Robbery Suspect

Columbus Police are now searching for a man suspected of displaying a pistol before robbing a Subway restaurant.

It happened just before 6:00 p.m. at 2109 Polaris Parkway on Saturday.

Police say the man spent several minutes in the restroom before he ordered a sandwich.

That's when officers say he demanded cash from the register after displaying the handle of a pistol in his pants and a hammer.

Police say he was using an inhaler before the robbery and describe the man in his late 20's to early 30's as about 6'2". He had a trimmed beard and was last seen wearing a grey toboggan, red jacket, red pants and black shoes before leaving the area in a grey SUV. They say he was also using an inhaler before the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Columbus Police Robbery Unit at 614-645-4665 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.
