Columbus Police Say Teenager Was Shot In The Back During Party

Columbus Police are continuing to investigate a shooting that sent a teenager to the hospital near East Columbus.

The shooting happened around 11:00 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of Hildreth Avenue.

Columbus Police said the 17-year-old was rushed to Grant Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the back. Officers said his injury was non-life threatening.

Witnesses told police there was a party going on at that address when several shots were fired.

Police said the gunshots appeared to come from the back of a residence across the street.

Officers have not yet identified a suspect or a possible motive.
