Columbus Police Officer Loses Battle With Cancer

The Columbus Division of Police mourned the death of a police officer Saturday.

Officer Bonnie Lirtzman, 35, lost her battle with cancer.

She beat breast cancer at the age of 34, but was recently diagnosed with more cancer.

The Columbus Division of Police issued a statement on Facebook Saturday that said, "Today Officer Bonnie Lirtzman lost her battle with cancer. The 35-year-old was not only a police officer but a mother, a daughter, a woman whose valiant fight against a horrible disease showed her true bravery."
