Columbus Police Find Thousands of Pounds Of Pot In Back Of Truck

Columbus Police say an alert passerby notified authorities, and now, millions of dollars of marijuana is off of the streets.

Officers report that a passerby in West Columbus noticed men unloading what looked like boxes of watermelon from a tractor trailer.

However, the witness was suspicious and decided to take action.

A call to the police led to charges against three men for drug trafficking.

Anthony Allen Byrd, 36, Ronald Lynwood Haywood, 39, and Cameron Edward Jackson, 36, are in custody.

There were boxes and boxes of marijuana, an estimated 3,300 pounds.

Police say the marijuana has a street value of nearly $6 million.
