Columbus Opens Warming Centers Due To Extreme Wind Chills

The city of Columbus is opening warming centers at local recreation centers.

Mayor Michael Coleman urged residents to take precautions and stay indoors during the extreme temperatures over the next few days.

Here's a list of city provided centers where residents can stay warm. The centers are open during traditional operating hours.

-    Dodge, 667 Sullivant Ave.
-    Gillie, 4625 Morse Centre
-    Martin Janis, 600 E. 11th Ave
-    Lazelle Woods, 8140 Sancus
-    Marion Franklin, 2801 Lockbourne
-    Whetstone, 3923 N. High Street
