Columbus Museum Of Art To Add New Wing
The Columbus Museum of Art is ready to expand again.
The museum presented renderings of a $37.6 million dollar expansion project to the Columbus Downtown Commission on Tuesday.
It will renovate the Ross Wing and lobby and add 50,000 square feet of new space to the east end of the building.
The addition will be used for special events and features a full-service restaurant and more space to house the museum's permanent collection.
The museum will pay for the renovations using money raised through its Art Matters capital endowment campaign.
Groundbreaking is expected to happen this spring.
The upgrade is the third and final phase of a multi-year expansion plan.
