Columbus Police are searching for the driver of a Jeep who crashed into a Columbus City School bus and then left the scene.

It happened on Harrisburg Pike at West Mound Street just before 8:00 a.m.  Police say there were children on the bus, but they were not injured.

Officers located the crashed Jeep about a mile away in an alley behind Whitethorne Avenue, but the driver had escaped.

Investigators are using the school bus surveillance camera to get a description of the driver.

Police say he has blonde hair in a pony tail and may be wearing blue pants.
