Cold Blast With Snow Expected Late Monday

Special Information:
    Partly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures are in the forecast tonight. Overnight lows will fall back to near freezing by morning. Veterans Day will start dry with partly to mostly cloudy skies. An arctic cold front will approach central Ohio toward sunset with showers developing. As colder air moves in behind the front, the rain will mix with and change over to snow around midnight or shortly after Monday night. Light snow will continue late Monday night before tapering off around sunrise Tuesday. Snowfall accumulations of around a coating to up to an inch and a half will be possible across most of central Ohio by Tuesday morning.
    A cold, arctic high pressure system will build into the Ohio Valley Tuesday allowing for skies to clear. Temperatures will fall to around 20 degrees below average with highs only in the 30’s Tuesday and Wednesday. A slow warm up is expected for the second half of the week with temperatures climbing back into the upper 40’s by Friday under partly cloudy skies. Another storm system will bring back the threat for rain by late next weekend.

Inconvenient Weather:  Rain will develop around sunset Monday as an arctic cold front approaches. As the cold air moves in, the rain will change to snow around or shortly after midnight Monday night. Light snow accumulations will be possible by early Tuesday morning. With temperatures dropping below freezing, some slick spots will be possible by the Tuesday morning commute.
