A teacher accused of sending nude text messages and having sex with a teenage student appeared in court via a video arraignment on Friday.

Martina Stanley, 35, is a cross country track coach at Elgin High School.

A judge on Friday set Stanley's bond at $20,000 and ordered her not to have contact with the alleged victim.

Stanley was questioned by deputies on Thursday for two hours before they charged her with felony sexual battery.

Sheriff Tim Bailey said Stanley's position as a school employee makes the relationship with the boy a crime.

Bailey says investigators will now examine cell phones and computers to gather more information about the extent of the alleged relationship between the coach and the 17-year-old boy.

In a news release, school officials stated that Stanley had been suspended.
