Police were investigating shots fired outside a west Columbus convenience store.

The incident happened at the Food Mart Express on Hague Avenue around 2:30 a.m.

The two men got in an argument, that eventually led outside the mart.

31-year-old Christopher Deeds told police he rode is bike to the Food Mart Express carryout and forgot to take his ski mask off as he walked into the business.

Believing the business was getting robbed, Food Mart Express employee Mohannad Alhiassha grabbed his handgun and confronted Deeds.

Alhiassha forced Deeds out of the store and into the parking lot. Alhiassha told police he was worried there was more than on person with Deeds, so he discharged his gun one time into the pavement.

The bullet ricocheted off the pavement and grazed Deeds left foot. Deeds, believing he was shot, ran down the road to the UDF at Sullivant and Hague Avenues to get help.

That's where police found Deeds. Deeds was not hit by a bullet and declined to pursue charges against Alhiassha.
