A Circleville teen will spend 30 days on house arrest for his role in the riot that claimed the life of a young mother.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that the judge sentenced 17-year-old Brandon Bolin on Tuesday.

Bolin was part of the street brawl on March 28 in which Brittany Jeffers was injured and later died following bleeding in the brain.

The newspaper said that witnesses reported Bolin kicked or struck Jeffers in the head, but prosecutors said it could not be proven how she suffered the fatal injury.

A judge recently dropped aggravated rioting charges against three adults involved in the case. One person, Nicole Leasure, is still facing charges.
