Chillicothe Police Officer Who Fell Asleep Behind Wheel, Crashed Could Face Charges

An internal investigation into an officer who fell asleep behind the wheel of his cruiser is ongoing.

The Chillicothe police department said that Officer Terry L. Brown has been moved to the day shift from the night shift while the investigation continues.

The city law director’s office is considering possible charges.

According to the police report, Brown admitted to falling asleep while driving southbound on Bowman Road on Tuesday morning.

He struck three cars that were parked along the side of the road.

Police said that the city’s insurance would cover the cost of the damage to the three vehicles.
